Welcome to Day 5 of The Carousel Cabaret Album Experience! Today, we come to the title track of the album. This song was the catalyst for the recording of this album. I was getting ready to record a completely different album. but this song inspired a complete and sudden turn in the road. It's the great metaphor for the epic journey of life that we have all embarked upon. What do you think you will see the day you depart and look back upon it all? I'd love to hear !

Not only is this song the title track, but it is the song that inspired a complete right turn one night and changed the course of Tommy Spase & The Alchemists history. Read More!
Carousel Cabaret
It seems that life is like a carousel, a cabaret old chum
An upward spiral until the day you leave the ground
And the love inside your heart, the very core of who you are
The sacred force that keeps you spinning round and round
Oh, but in life there can be pain and in love, more of the same
It begs the question, how can you carry on?
Do like they do in desert lands, to cross the storms made out of sand
They hold the camel's tail to reach the great beyond
The clock of time moves day by day
Step by step you make your way
Up the mountain till you reach the very top
The clock of time unwinds
Up and up and up you climb
Until you reach the end the lessons never stop
But in truth, it never ends and from this place you just ascend
So while you're here learn to flip it before you flop
Because the purpose of it all is to get up after you fall
You're so much more than this body that you drop
The Carousel Cabaret
On and on and on we make our way
Across the great divide
You cannot run you cannot hide
When you came here you signed up to take the ride
In every word you say, in every price you pay
In every promise that you make
And on and on and on it goes
Until that day you reach the other side
It will do it's best to make you crazy
It will do it's best to bring you down
For the carousel is never lazy
No, indeed, it is always turning, turning around
But, if you can learn then it can teach you
You can even learn to fly!
Surely time will tell that the carousel will return to you in kind
So welcome to you life, it's a hell of a ride
There's nothing more that you can say
About the cabaret that has not been said before
Welcome to your life, be it hell or paradise
Be grateful for every day
For the duration of your stay is a gift, a gift for sure
It seems that life is like a carousel, a cabaret old chum
You're born, you die, you laugh, you dry
You climb, you fall
You dream your dreams, you fall in love
You overcome, you rise above
You earn your wings when your back is up against the wall
But on that day this journey ends and from this place you just ascend
What will you see when you look back upon it all?
Will it be the sweet smell of victory or the painful sting of defeat?
Or will you see that it was all meant to be all along?
