The Title Track

Not only is this song the title track, but it is the song that inspired a complete right turn one night and changed the course of Tommy Spase & The Alchemists history.

Guess what?  I already have the next album ready to go. How?  Because it was going to be the one that we would have recorded if this song hadn't decided to come along.  One night as I was playing it, it hit me that there was more to this song than just being a song.  It was an entire album.  Then I started to observe how a bunch of songs that I had sitting around began to assemble themselves, in order of appreaence, to fill out a wonderful, rock opera-like album!

I have lots and lots of songs piled up in the dusty corners of my laboratory.  There was a specific period of time that a bunch of songs were being born that were of a certain vein.  I collected them in a folder entitled "Steam Sessions", being all were of a similar vibe.  There were many songs there that I loved very much, but I had other musical priorities that were pending and they kind of just sat there for a good long time.  About half of the songs on this album are from that group.  On that fateful night, I noticed how these songs, together with newer material, formed around "Carousel Cabaret" to weave a cohesive narrative that completely filled in and solidified as this, our latest and greatest album to date.
