Sea Monsters

I woke up today in a dream

but it's not as strange as it seems

the story unfolds like a flower to the first light of day

It's in the countless shining stars in the sky

that capture the gleam in my eye

the spark of electric blue light that shines out the way

i can't remember when I've seen better days

so much of my time i have spent in the haze

in the cloudy, confusing corners of my mind

It's bigger than life itself

It's every story that's ever been told

It's the beginning, the end, the breath of it all

it's the inch-worm as it measures the marigolds

it's in the littlest of creeping things

it's in the tiniest of little fishies

It's in the deep of the black and blue sea

where the sea monsters and the mermaids

dance on the floor of the ocean

it's the love...the love, the love by which it was created

that's what god is...
