It is at this point that the album takes a definitive turn.  There are so many reasons that this song is special to me.  And although there is no possible way I could pick a favorite song or moment on the album, if I was forced to choose one, this song, and the outro of this song would most likely be it.

First, I have to thank our bass player Kipp Reitzel that this song ever saw the light of day.  Kipp was once a guitar player in an earlier incarnation of The Alchemists.  When he returned a few years later as our bass player he me asked about this song and mentioned how much he liked it.  I had almost forgotten about it, so after our conversation, I went back and revisited it.  I was inspired.   Interestingly enough, this song was the most challenging for him, and the rest of us to really get the groove.  But after some perseverence, it may be the most groovy of all of the songs.  The interaction between he and Kyle and the rest of the band is epic.  And then there's Cesar's magical guitar part...

The Outro

The night before I was going in to record the guitars on this song, I was perplexed as to what I was going to do for the outro.  In the original demo, which got developed past the drum tracks and the scratch guitar and vocal, I just jammed all the away to the end.  I had worked out a good solo and was happy but didn't think more guitar soloing would be that great for the outro.  As i was sitting there with guitar in hand, like a lightening bolt, the melody octave part came through.  It was magical.  And for me it IS magical.  There is a place that it takes me every time I hear it and it makes me thankful for the all the gifts that have been bestowed upon me during the making of this album.
